Frank Langley is again organizing The St. John Arts Festival featuring music, dance and art on St. John.  A true celebration of Virgin Islands culture, the show started yesterday and will continue through the next week.

On Saturday events include the Historical Society hike to Estate Beverhoudtsberg, an old Danish sugar plantation, as well as concert in the park by Love City Pan Dragons and a show by the jump rope team Love City Leapers and ballroom dancing by local school children.  On Saturday night  “Broadway Comes To St John”, produced by the St John School of The Arts, will be performed at the Westin Resort.

On Sunday there will be a gospel concert in Cruz Bay Park as well as a quadrille dancers.

On Monday, Koko and the Sunshine Band and the Caribbean Ritual Dancers and Mocko Jumbies will perform in the park.  The next few days will feature South American-style music by the Samba Combo band and Inner Visions reggae band.

Throughout the festival there will be for sale local food, arts and crafts as well as an exhibit by local children at the Marketplace.  During the week  many of St John’s top restaurants will be featuring live music.
