It was nice to see the Roseway sail into Rendezvous Bay this afternoon.  Roseway was built in 1925 and is a total of 137 feet long.   She was used as a pilot boat  in Boston harbor from 1942 to 1973, when she was converted to a windjammer for carrying passengers.  In 1977 Roseway starred in the television remake of Rudyard Kipling’s Captains Courageous, filmed in Camden, Maine.  In 2002 she was owned by the World Ocean School  In  2006  Roseway sailed to St. Croix USVI where she spends the winter serving island students. St. Croix is now the  winter home port for Roseway. She still summers in the Northeast, primarily in Boston, providing education programs and day sails for the public.  Roseway is a registered U.S. National Historic Landmark .
