On Sunday May 27, 2012, Friends of VI National Park will host its ninth annual Beach-to-Beach Power Swim.  The race consists of three courses:  a short course from Maho to Cinnamon, about 1 mile; an intermediate course from Maho to Trunk Bay, about 2-1/4 miles; and a long course from Maho to Hawksnest, about 3-1/2 miles.  Swimmers compete as individuals or as part of a 3-person team.  Swimmers also compete in the “assisted” category using snorkel and/or fins.

Introduced in 2010, the Race for a Reason participant fundraising challenge is back again and better than ever in 2012!  Race for a Reason will be online again this year, making it even easier for participants to fundraise for a great cause,  the Friends of VI National Park enabling them to support conservation, protection and education programs and projects in the VI National Park.
