The wattapama (Poitea florida) is a small tree that grows abundantly in the
Virgin Islands. It is seldom noticed until it blossoms with its distinctive branches full of lavendar colored blossoms. When blooming these trees can be spotted all over the island where one would never otherwise have noticed them. There is also a light floral scent that reminds us that Summer is almost here.ÂÂ
