bill-track.gifTropical storm Ana lost its omph and passed by St. John about 5AM this morning with a few thunder storms and gusts to a maximum of 40MPH.

Bill is another story altogether.  It is already hurricane strength and headed in our general direction.  The experts, however, expect it to continue on a curve to the north west (see chart above) which would take it well north of St. John.   We would certainly get some big waves for the surfers but no damage.

Keep in mind St. John has not been hit by a hurricane in 13 years when Bertha gave us a swipe in 1996.  Most place in the southern United States cannot say the same.
